Zoe finds joy in the deeply personal aspect of guiding individuals through their watch collecting journey. After a decade in this highly competitive industry, her layered understanding of the market is balanced out by the fact that – above all – she values the importance of trust and reliability. Her collecting philosophy is buy what you love, not what everyone else tells you to buy.

Zoe Abelson has worked in the watch industry for over a decade now, establishing herself as a trusted expert with a global edge. Her interest in horology was piqued in 2011 after interning with Antiquorum Auctioneers (NY), a global auction house specializing in fine timepieces. She was quickly promoted to a full-time role, and she served as Administrative Assistant – Inventory Control Manager for 2.5 years.

From there, Zoe went on to work as the Luxury Department Manager for the New York office of Auctionata, a Berlin-based online auction house. In this role, she produced bi-monthly Luxury Timepiece Auctions, in addition to curating monthly Handbags & Accessories Auctions and managing the Jewelry Department. It was during this time that Abelson’s expertise grew exponentially, as she was working intimately with specialized watch dealers, learning the nuanced language of vintage timepieces, and understanding the market-at-large.

After Auctionata, Zoe took the Director of Partnerships role with Crown & Caliber, an online marketplace for pre-owned luxury timepieces. She then spent a year working as Client Advisor for WatchBox (formerly known as Govberg Jewelers), eventually moving to Hong Kong to kick-start their first international office in Hong Kong. She operated as a Senior Client Advisor for WatchBox, a notable online marketplace for pre-owned luxury timepieces, for 3.5 years.

In addition to her day-to-day client advising, Zoe has forged a popular online presence as @watchgirloffduty on Instagram. She co-hosted “Watch Girls A to Z” on WatchBox’s YouTube channel in 2017 and was featured in other videos such as Collector’s Conversations and Global Market Wraps. She has started fostering an all female watch collecting community on Whatsapp of over 160 women around the globe and has hosted meet ups in cities such as New York City and Los Angeles.
